Computer Systems Analyst

Job Duties:

  • Perform business alignment of IT services and service level management in the area of Cloud Managed Services. Develop tactical and strategic solutions to improve cloud operations. Translate business requirements into business processes flows. Coordinate, facilitate and resolve issues and discrepancies between various stakeholders including technical and business teams. Create metrics to help stakeholders and other decision makers make informed and effective decisions. Analyze issues and trends and provide reports for the cloud infrastructure. Analyze process and quality metrics and create and enhance documentation. Create and manage documentation throughout process implementation phase. Conduct quality reviews and peer assessments. Identify, analyze and promote manual and automated process changes to improve team effectiveness. Ensure technical issues and concerns are addressed and mitigated. Represent and communicate the needs of technical and management staff with partners and customers. Manage issues and assess impact in a timely manner. Ensure recovery plan timelines of are accurate. Accomplish Change Management activities including during critical change window, and manage and authorize recovery actions including for major incidents resulting from failed change activity. Ensure process principles are executed and provide feedback and guidance to Service Line Management resources involved in the process. Assist with the management service level availability for current and new services and ensure the continual improvement of the Availability Management process. Provide automation support to maximize efficiency and productivity. Leverage various tools and technologies such as Integrated Service Management Maximo (ISM-Maximo), Smart Cloud Control Desk (SCCD), Siebel, and BMC Remedy.


Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer or Management Information Systems, Engineering (any), Business Administration or a related field; and 12 months’ experience in the job offered or as an IT Project Manager, Team/Technical Lead, or a related occupation. We will also consider candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer or Management Information Systems, Engineering (any), Business Administration or a related field; and 5 years’ progressively responsible work experience in the job offered or as an IT Project Manager, Team/Technical Lead or a related occupation. Position is based out of corporate headquarters in Reston, VA and may require relocation to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States.

Job Requirements

JAVA/J2EE developers

Location: Reston, VA

Job Description:

The team will need to initially make changes to the front end/UI piece of the system, specifically JSPs and some HTML. There will also be changes on the web services side in order to exchange data using XML Formal and also changes on the actual server side. The back end system is currently Sybase however it will be moving over to oracle 11i. Position will interface with existing team of developers and collaborate with client, to create best technical solution.


  • 6+ yrs of java/J2EE development experience
  • 2+ yrs of JSP, XML, EJB and web services experience
  • Understanding of different technologies such as: Java, Oracle, Sybase and how the systems work to function/relate to each other
  • Must have solid understanding of 3 Tier Architecture to include; Middle Tier
  • Must understand large data flow and relationship between external feeds and internal systems
  • Involved in technical requirements, design and development
  • Extensive (and recent) experience with UNIX, Oracle (or Sybase)
  • Must have EJB experience
  • Must have web services
  • Ability to work as a team, collaborate well with others, achieve expected results in fast pace environment.

Consultants must understand the business processes and document requirements via various methods including interviewing stakeholders; identify and prioritize business needs, manage business expectations and client relationship; develop specifications as defined in the business requirements, including documenting use cases.

Required Skills/Certification:

IBM Rational Requirements With Use Cases Certification, USE CASES, ACTIVITY DIAGRAMS; UML. strong verbal & written communication skills, facilitation experience and problem resolution. Essential knowledge areas and core competencies as outlined within the IIBA BABOK 2.0.

Required Tool Knowledge:

Rational RequisitePro, Rational Rose or Rational Software Modeler/Architect, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office.
